About the Residents of the Mountain View Farm Animal Sanctuary

The long horned black goat Pepper was taken from a neglectful owner by a humane society in Derby and came to us very malnourished about 7 years ago. At that time, you could see all of his ribs, and his hooves were in very bad shape. He is now perfectly healthy and quite feisty, often butting horns with his paddock mate, Buster, the white goat. Both of them like to climb on rocks, and their favorite food is bread, especially white bread!

Buster is a 9 year old white, long-horned goat who was brought to us by a couple from southern New Hampshire who were having difficulty affording his upkeep after losing thier jobs. Buster is very used to being around people and likes to be taken on walks like a pet dog on a leash! His hooves needed some work initially, but he is very healthy and strong. Sometimes we take him out to the parking lot used by Kingdom Trails mountain bikers, and he knows how to please visitors! He lives with Pepper, the black goat, and they frequently butt heads and clash horns, like jousting knights.
